National Oyster Day

It is National Oyster Day and we ask that you celebrate today and this month by visiting restaurants that participate in the Alabama Oyster Shell Recycling program! We also ask that you donate to support that vital program, which has collected 18.9 million shells, equaling the weight of 391 elephants or 4,696 manatees. With fuel prices rising these past few years, your contribution is needed now more than ever! Support the instrumental Oyster Shell Recycling Program by clicking this secure link:

We also ask for your help getting the word out about the World Premiere of The Carnivorous Kingdom, the newest documentary from award-winning filmmaker Ben Raines, taking place at the Saenger Theatre on Monday, August 22 at 5:00pm! The event is free, but everyone needs to register through our home page: This event is sponsored by ACF, the Saenger Theater, the Sierra Club of South Alabama, and the Poarch Band Creek of Indians, who are also proving complimentary popcorn and beverages for everyone! Please download and share the event flyer, and we hope to see you on August 22!

Finally, ACF is searching for our next Fall Intern! If you know of someone interested in helping with outreach events, education programs, volunteer coordination, and more, please forward this email! To learn more and/or apply, please download this job description, which includes instructions for submitting your resume.
